Mirima National Park, also called Hidden Valley, is the easiest red-rock landscape to reach from Kununurra. Short marked trails wind through banded sandstone formations, dry gullies, and lookouts over town.
It is not a substitute for Purnululu, but it is a strong introduction to the East Kimberley if you have limited time or no 4WD. Go early or late in the day; the rock glows and the heat is less punishing.
