Halls Head Beach

Halls Head is the ocean-side suburb opposite Mandurah's centre, on the western side of the inlet entrance. Its long curve of white sand stretches for kilometres, with reasonable swimming, light surf, and good views back toward town. The water is colder than the estuary side — this is the open Indian Ocean — but the beach is clean, the parking is easy, and a small cafe at the lookout serves coffee with a view.

The path along the headland is one of the better short walks in town: about thirty minutes from the car park to the south end of the beach, with a few benches and interpretive signs about the marine reserve offshore. Dolphins are sometimes visible from the cliffs.
