Lake Cave is the most dramatic of the Margaret River show caves, reached by descending into a collapsed doline and then entering a chamber where still water reflects the limestone formations above it. The suspended table formation above the lake is the signature sight, and it looks almost too delicate to be real.
Visits are guided and timed, so book ahead in busy periods. The climb back out is the only physical catch: it is a long staircase, manageable for most visitors but not effortless. If you only have time for one cave, Lake Cave is usually the most memorable choice.
