Surfers Point at Prevelly is Margaret River's most famous ocean stage: a rocky headland, a big open swell window, and waves that can look magnificent from shore and intimidating in the water. The main break is for experienced surfers; it is powerful, exposed, and best treated with respect.
Non-surfers should still come. The viewing platforms and lawns above the point make this one of the best sunset stops in the region, with the river mouth to the north and long walls of swell arriving from the Indian Ocean. Bring a jacket even in warm weather; the wind can cut across the headland.
