A reconstructed Polynesian village on the southwestern coast, run as a cultural centre and dinner-show venue. The daytime visit walks you through demonstrations of traditional skills — wood and stone carving, pareo dyeing, uru (breadfruit) preparation, coconut oil pressing — with explanations in French and English by Tahitian staff. The evening show is the larger operation: a buffet of Polynesian dishes (suckling pig in an ahima'a underground oven, marinated raw fish, breadfruit, sweet potato) followed by an hour of fire-dance and ori Tahiti performances. It is tourist-formatted but the dancers are good and the venue, in a real palm grove on the lagoon, is more atmospheric than the hotel dance shows. Booking essential for the dinner show.
