Mount Lamlam at 406 metres is the highest point on Guam, and the trail to the summit from the road above Cetti Bay is one of the better hikes on the island. The ascent takes about 45 minutes from the trailhead and passes through limestone forest and scrub before emerging at the top, where a large cross marks the summit and the views extend across the southern half of the island in both directions — Cetti Bay and the Philippine Sea to the west, Pago Bay and the Pacific to the east.
The hike is straightforward but exposed in the upper section, and the sun in the southern Guam hills is fierce. Start early, bring water, and allow plenty of time. The adjacent peak, Mount Jumullong Manglo, can be reached on the same trail and gives slightly different views. Both peaks are popular with local hikers on weekends.
