Ohakune Railway Museum is a small volunteer-run stop near the railway station, with railway equipment, local rail history, and material on the Tangiwai disaster of 1953. It is modest, but worthwhile if you are interested in the North Island Main Trunk line or are passing through Ohakune by train.
