The Gun Emplacement Walkway is a short coastal walk at Greymouth where wartime defensive remains meet open Tasman Sea views. The old gun positions are modest, but they add a useful layer to a town more often read through gold, coal, and the Grey River.
It is best treated as an easy leg-stretcher rather than a major historic site. Combine it with the breakwater or floodwall walks and you get a good sense of Greymouth's exposed edge: river mouth, surf, weather, and the infrastructure built to hold it all together.
