Kitekite Falls is the inland half of a good Piha day. The walk starts near the end of Glenesk Road and follows a forest track through the Waitakere Ranges to a stepped waterfall dropping into a pool below.
The return walk is short enough for casual walkers, though it can be muddy after rain. Clean your shoes at the kauri-dieback stations and stay on the track. The falls are especially good after wet weather, when the bush smells fresh and the water is running hard.
