The Picton Foreshore is the long curved promenade that runs from the ferry terminal around the eastern arm of the harbour. It's the social centre of the town — cafes and the i-Site visitor centre on one side, a wide grass reserve with pines and pohutukawa, then the harbour itself with the marina, the moored yachts and the ferry coming and going every couple of hours.
A short walk along the foreshore takes you past the EcoWorld Aquarium, the small Picton Museum, and ends at the start of the Snout Track. Buskers play here in summer; the cafes are packed on ferry-arrival mornings and quiet by 5 pm. Free public BBQs are dotted along the grass strip.
