The Picton Museum is a small community-run museum on the foreshore, focused on the maritime history of the Marlborough Sounds. The collection covers everything from Maori artefacts and early whaling station relics through to scale models of the old steamships that ran the Sounds before roads reached the outer bays.
Allow about 45 minutes for a visit. Admission is by koha (donation). Combine with the Edwin Fox if you have any interest in maritime history.
