Arrowtown is about 20 minutes by car from central Queenstown and 15 minutes from the airport at Frankton. Local Orbus services connect Queenstown, Frankton, and Arrowtown, though a car or bike gives you more freedom to continue to Lake Hayes, Gibbston, or the Crown Range road.
Cyclists can reach Arrowtown on the Queenstown Trail network, following off-road paths through the Wakatipu Basin and along the Arrow River. It is one of the better short rides in the Queenstown area.
