Tobin's Track is the short, steep walk from Arrowtown up to the Crown Terrace road. It follows an old route used by Thomas Tobin, who carried supplies between the Wakatipu Basin and the high country beyond.
The climb is exposed and more breathless than its distance suggests, but the reward is a wide view over Arrowtown, the Arrow River, Lake Hayes, and the surrounding basin. Go early or late in summer; there is little shade on the upper section.
