Centennial Park is one of Timaru's largest green spaces, spreading across a former quarry landscape with ponds, lawns, tracks, and planted areas. It gives visitors a quieter inland counterpoint to Caroline Bay and the port-side parts of town.
Come for an easy walk, a picnic, or a break from driving along the South Canterbury coast. The park is more local than spectacular, but its size and varied terrain make it a useful outdoor stop within the city.
