Taki Falls

Taki Falls drops 25 metres into a jungle pool in Ngardmau state, on the western side of the island. The walk in takes about 30 minutes through dense rainforest along the bed of an old Japanese phosphate mine railway, with the rusted remains of locomotives slowly being swallowed by vines.

Swimming in the pool below the falls is the obvious reward at the end. Pay the modest entry fee at the Ngardmau state office in advance and bring sturdy shoes — the path is muddy after rain, which in Palau is most days.
