'Eua's activities are almost entirely outdoors. The national park trails through native rainforest are the island's main draw — routes range from easy walks to the clifftop viewpoints to more demanding full-day treks through the interior. Whale watching from June to October is exceptional, often with humpbacks visible close to shore. The island also has good birdwatching, a handful of cave systems, and completely undeveloped snorkelling on the west coast reef.
