The Odeon stands just behind the Bouleuterion and is a small Roman-era semicircular building used for concerts, recitations, and meetings of the city's intellectual life. The tiered seating is partly preserved and you can sit on its lower steps with a view towards the modern plain.
It was small enough to be roofed, which is why surviving Odeons usually have steeper walls and tighter geometry than the open-air theatres beside them. Apollonia's example is modest but well-sited and gives a sense of the layered cultural life that drew students like the young Octavian.
