St Astvatsatsin Church

A small, near-perfectly preserved 7th-century church standing a hundred metres from the much larger Cathedral of Talin. The plan is a cruciform with a central dome, of the type that would become standard across medieval Armenia; the carving is restrained but elegant, with a single carved tympanum above the western door.

It's a five-minute look, easily combined with the cathedral on the same visit. The two churches together make Talin one of the most concentrated stops on the Aragatsotn early-medieval circuit.
