The Churer Tor is one of Feldkirch's old town gates, a reminder that this was once a fortified trading town controlling routes toward Chur, the Rhine valley, and the Alpine passes. It is not a major monument by itself, but it helps the old street plan make sense.
Use it as a marker for a walk through the historic centre. The pleasure of Feldkirch is in these survivals: gates, arcades, corners, and small shifts in level rather than one overwhelming set piece.
