Winter is the main season, especially from late December through March, when Penken, Ahorn, and the wider Zillertal ski areas are in full operation. The Hintertux Glacier gives the valley a longer snow season than Mayrhofen itself.
Summer is better for walkers, mountain bikers, and families who want lift-served views without ski crowds. Spring and late autumn are quieter, but some lifts and mountain services may be closed between seasons.
