The footbridge over the Kudyal River gorge is the physical link between Krasnaya Sloboda and Quba, and crossing it is one of the more unusual short walks in Azerbaijan. The gorge drops away steeply below the bridge, and from the middle you get an unobstructed view down the wooded ravine and up to the ridgeline above town.
The walk from one bank to the other takes about five minutes. On the Krasnaya Sloboda side the bridge deposits you near the main synagogue area; on the Quba side you emerge near the old bazaar quarter. Most visitors walk across and back simply for the view, then explore whichever town they haven't yet covered.
The bridge is the only connection between the two towns at this point, so it sees a steady stream of locals going about their daily business alongside any tourists who happen to be visiting.
