The Yardymly meteorite is more story than conventional sight, but it is a good example of the odd details that make remote places memorable. In 1959 a meteorite fall near the town brought scientific attention to a district otherwise known mainly to locals and south-Azerbaijan travellers.
There is no major visitor centre to plan around. Treat it as a curiosity to know before you arrive, and as a reminder that even a small mountain town can have a place in a much larger map.
