Khatyn Memorial Complex is one of Belarus's most important Second World War memorials, built on the site of a village destroyed in 1943. Bells, chimneys, paths, and stark sculpture turn the absence of the village into the central experience.
It is a sober day trip from Minsk and should be approached as a memorial, not a sightseeing stop. The design is direct and emotionally heavy, but it gives essential context to Belarus's wartime losses and the way those losses shape national memory.
