Here you can buy clothes, food, souvenirs, etc.

GUM (State Department Store)

Skoriny 23, tel. (+375-17) 227 88 76. Open 09:00 - 21:00, Sun 09:00 - 21:00. Sun 11.00 - 18.00. Often crowded, but has a good selection of many items. Also there is a decent cafeteria on the top floor.

Komarovsky Market

Very Khoruzhey 6, tel. 231 79 00. Open 08:00 - 19:00. Closed Mon.

All kinds of food, you can even get yourself a whole pig, or a barely alive carp. Outside you can buy all kinds of seasonal produce.

Zhdanovichi Market

10 minutes’ drive on the highway extending from Masherova tel. 296 72 25.

Buy just about anything you can imagine, Radios, shoes made by nice, they look like nike. Sports fans can buy San Fransico 59er hats, or New York Raider shirts. Also there are food stalls selling cheap meals to keep you going while you browse.

Artists Market

Lenina, a short walk from McDonalds, it is halfway between the Metro stops Kupalovskaya and Nemiga.

Here you can barter for handcrafted items, paintings, matroshka(nesting dolls), etc. If you are staying a while it is possible to get an artist to make a set of nesting dolls to your own design, painted with portraits or scenes of your choice.

Outdoor Art Market

Located half-way between Oktiabrskaya and Pobedy Square metro stations and tucked away behind the monstrocity of the War museum this is truly a wonderful little market. Some local crafts, but mostly paintings somewhat tailored to local tastes (still-life, nature, etc.), with a few genuine surprises among the stalls if you take the time to look.
