Butrimovich Palace, sometimes called Pinsky Mur, is a late 18th-century town palace built for Mateusz Butrymowicz, one of the important political and economic figures of old Polesia. It is not a grand palace in the western European sense; its interest is more local, showing how wealth and status looked in a river trading town on the edge of the marshes.
The building now serves civic functions, so do not expect a full palace museum. It is still worth seeking out for its proportions, its position in the old centre, and the way it fills in Pinsk's story between the monasteries and the 19th-century merchant streets.
