By Train
Charleroi-Central station (renamed from Charleroi-South in 2022) is in the heart of the city and connected to the metro and bus network. Direct trains run frequently from Brussels (about 50 minutes), Namur, and Liège. From Paris, take the Thalys or TGV to Brussels, then a local connection to Charleroi.
By Plane
Brussels South Charleroi Airport (CRL) is one of Ryanair's main European hubs and handles a large volume of budget flights from across Europe. The airport is about 8 km from the city centre; buses run regularly between the airport and Charleroi-Central station.
By Car
The E19 connects Charleroi to Brussels (60 km north) and to France via the E42 to the southwest. From Namur take the E42 westbound. Parking in the centre can be tricky; the railway station area has the most options.
