Kortrijk 1302 is an interactive museum about the Battle of the Golden Spurs, fought near Kortrijk on 11 July 1302. The battle became central to Flemish historical memory because a largely infantry army defeated mounted knights, and the captured spurs became a symbol of victory.
The museum is set in the conserved Groeninge Abbey and gives useful context before visiting Kortrijk's other medieval sights.
