A stroll down Naamsestraat toward the Begijnhof is Leuven's best walk for university history. The pedestrian street is lined with old buildings that tell the story of 500 years of academic life: the Lakenhalle (Drapers' Hall), which houses the university rectorate, and further along, Sint-Michielskerk (Church of St Michael) with one of the most monumental church facades in Belgium. Several historic colleges line the street, including the beautifully restored Van Dale College.
