The Memorial 1815 is the main interpretive museum at the battlefield, housed in a modern building at the base of the Lion's Mound. It uses an immersive approach — film projections, dioramas, individual soldier biographies, and recovered artefacts — to walk visitors through the events of 18 June 1815 and explain why that single day reshaped European history.
The museum covers all three armies — British/Allied, French, and Prussian — and is careful to present the perspectives of common soldiers alongside commanders. It contains a significant collection of weapons, uniforms, personal objects, and battle relics excavated from the field. Combined tickets with the Lion's Mound and the Panorama are available and represent good value if you plan to see all three.
