Dugo Polje Necropolis lies on the Blidinje plateau west of Jablanica, among the mountains rather than in the town. Its medieval stecak tombstones are part of the transnational UNESCO listing for these carved grave markers, which are especially associated with Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The setting matters as much as the stones. Low, weathered slabs and chests sit in open karst country below Vran and Cvrsnica, making the site feel older and lonelier than a museum display ever could.
