The Bay of Mali Ston lies just beyond the Klek Peninsula, enclosed by the Peljesac peninsula and the mainland. It is best known on the Croatian side for oysters and calm water, but it also frames Neum's setting and explains why the town's sea feels protected rather than exposed.
From Neum, the bay is more of a landscape context than a single sight. Travellers with a car can combine the Bosnian coast with Ston, Peljesac, or the Neretva delta, making the borderland feel much larger than Neum's short shoreline suggests.
