The Cathedral of the Dormition of the Theotokos is Tuzla's Serbian Orthodox cathedral, a relatively recent building (completed in the 20th century) but with a classical Orthodox architectural character that stands in interesting contrast to the Ottoman mosques nearby. The cathedral is the main Orthodox place of worship for Tuzla's Serbian community.
The building's presence in central Tuzla reflects the city's multi-religious history — alongside the mosques, there is also a Catholic church in the centre, making the historic core a compact illustration of the religious coexistence that characterised Bosnian towns before the 1990s conflicts fractured it. The cathedral can be visited during opening hours.
