The Kaliakra Transmitter is one of the more curious sights in the area — an unfinished short-wave broadcasting facility from the late Soviet period, abandoned mid-construction in 1989 and never used. The huge guyed mast and the concrete transmitter buildings sit alone on the flat steppe northwest of the cape, slowly being reclaimed.
It is not a formal tourist attraction and there is no signage, but you can drive close enough to walk around the perimeter. Photographers and ruin-spotters make a small detour from the cape to see it. Don't trespass — the structures are unstable.
