The House of Humour and Satire is Gabrovo's signature museum and the best reason to stop in the city centre. It collects cartoons, comic sculpture, posters, photographs, and visual jokes from Bulgaria and abroad, all tied to the city's long-running claim to be a capital of humour.
It is lighter than most Bulgarian regional museums but not trivial. Political satire, absurdist art, and local jokes sit side by side, and the building is large enough to reward a proper visit. Even travellers who usually skip museums should consider this one; it explains Gabrovo in a way no monument could.
