Church of St John Aliturgetos

The Church of St John Aliturgetos stands partly ruined near the southern edge of the old town. Its broken walls and brick decoration make it one of Nesebar's more photogenic church remains, especially with the sea close by.

The name is often interpreted as "not consecrated", and whether or not you follow the full church history, the ruin has a different mood from the more complete monuments. It is best appreciated as part of a loop around the peninsula rather than as a standalone stop.
