Sandanski City Park

The city park at Sandanski's centre is the main gathering place for locals and the hub around which the town's attractions are arranged. The Parthicopolis ruins are partially excavated within the park, the archaeological museum borders it, and several mineral water fountains are accessible throughout. The park is large and well-maintained, with mature trees providing shade in summer.

The park also contains the town's main open-air theatre and concert space, used for events during the summer season. In the evenings it fills with locals on the characteristic Bulgarian evening promenade (razhodka). It's a pleasant place to be at dusk, with the Pirin mountains visible to the east and the smell of pine and mineral water in the air.
