Church of St. Quirinus

The little Romanesque Church of St. Quirinus shares the cathedral's courtyard, and the two together make up one of the more unusual sacred complexes in Croatia. Built in the twelfth century, the church is dedicated to the patron saint of Krk and has a famously slim, square bell tower capped with a bulbous onion dome — visible from far across the bay.

Inside is a small treasury holding the most important religious art of the diocese: the silver pala from the cathedral, illuminated manuscripts, Glagolitic books, and a Madonna by the Venetian painter Paolo Veneziano. For a small additional fee on top of the cathedral entry, it is worth the visit for the Veneziano alone.
