Getting There

Krk is the most accessible of Croatia's larger islands. Rijeka Airport (RJK) sits on the island itself, on the northern side near Omišalj — a 35-minute drive from Krk town. Most flights are seasonal European routes; year-round service is limited.

By road, the Krk Bridge connects the island to the mainland just south of Rijeka. Buses run several times daily from Rijeka, Zagreb, and the wider Croatian network to Krk town's small bus station, just outside the old walls. Driving from Zagreb takes around two and a half hours.

Ferries run from Valbiska on Krk to Merag on Cres and to Lopar on Rab, opening the door to island-hopping further south.
