Novigrad sits on the coastal road between Umag (15 km north) and Poreč (15 km south). Pula airport is about 90 minutes by car; Trieste airport, just across the border in Italy, is closer — about an hour by road.
Local buses run frequently between the Istrian coastal towns; Novigrad has direct services to Pula, Pazin, Poreč, Umag, and across the border to Trieste. There is no train.
By car the inland route from the A1/A2 motorways comes in via Pazin or Buzet across the Mirna valley; the coastal D200 road is the slower but more scenic option from either direction.
