A pair of giant white concrete wings rise out of the seafront promenade like a stylised seagull about to take off. The monument has become Podgora's most recognisable image, and it stands at the south end of the main beach in the small park named after it. Up close the proportions are surprising — each wing is nearly 20 metres tall — and the bronze figures of partisans at the base are easy to miss until you walk underneath.
It is best photographed in the late afternoon when the sun lights up the western faces of the wings against the blue of the Adriatic. From the small plaza around it you have one of the cleanest views back along the riviera towards Tucepi and Makarska. There is no admission, no fence, and no signage in English — the people sitting on the benches around it are usually local pensioners, not tourists.
