Three kilometres north along the coast from Podgora, Tucepi has the longest continuous pebble beach on the Makarska Riviera — more than three kilometres of shingle backed by pine trees. It is wider and easier underfoot than Podgora's beach, and big resort hotels stand back from the shoreline rather than crowding it.
The old village above the modern resort, called Gornje Tucepi, is worth the climb for its 14th-century stone church of Saint George and a single restaurant that grills meat over an open hearth. You can walk the seafront promenade all the way from Podgora to Tucepi in about forty minutes, mostly under shade, dipping into the sea whenever you fancy. A bus runs the same stretch every half hour in summer.
