Podstrana's coastline consists of a series of pebble and shingle beaches stretching along the Adriatic, most of them accessible by footpath from the main coastal road. The beaches are backed by tamarisk and Mediterranean pine that provide shade in the afternoon — a significant luxury in summer when temperatures regularly exceed 35°C.
The beaches here are less crowded than those in central Split and somewhat more laid-back in character. The water is clear and clean, and the shelving bottom makes them suitable for children and non-swimmers. Sun loungers and umbrellas can be rented at the more developed stretches; quieter spots with natural access are accessible with a short scramble. The beach at the northern end of the settlement, near the Zrnovnica stream outflow, has the most amenities and the easiest road access.
