The ruined 13th-century castle perched on the wooded hill above town is Samobor's most dramatic landmark. A forest path leads up from the main square — the climb takes 20–30 minutes and passes a small chapel along the way. At the top, crumbling walls and towers frame views over the rooftops, the Žumberak hills, and on clear days towards Zagreb. Entry is free and the site is always open.
