"Fairy-tale Kingdom" cave discovered when a dog fell through a vineyard hole

The "Fairy-tale Kingdom" is a cave near the village of Feština, discovered in 1930 when a vineyard owner's dog fell through a hole. The stalactites and stalagmites range from milky white to deep red-brown, shaped into curtains and columns that gave the cave its name — local children thought it looked like a kingdom. The temperature holds steady at 13–14°C year-round, and you may spot bats or tiny albino cave crabs.

During World War II the cave served as a hiding place, saving the owner's son Josip while German soldiers rounded up the men of Feština.
