Peace Square is the natural first stop in Litoměřice. The broad space is lined with arcades, gables and old town houses, including the House at the Black Eagle with its Renaissance sgraffito. The old town hall, now part of the regional museum, gives the square a solid civic centre.
It is worth slowing down here rather than treating it as a waypoint. The best streets in town lead off the square, and the details in the facades give a quick sense of how prosperous Litoměřice once was.
