DOX is Prague's best contemporary art venue — an independent institution with no permanent collection, focused entirely on current international and Czech art in a converted factory in Holešovice. The exhibitions rotate several times a year and range across visual art, photography, architecture, and design. The quality is consistently high and the programming takes risks that state museums tend to avoid.
The building is excellent: white galleries, high ceilings, and connecting passages between the original industrial spaces. The rooftop terrace has a zeppelin-shaped pod — an inflatable structure used as additional exhibition and event space. The bookshop is good. Combine with the Veletržní Palace, ten minutes away on foot.
