The town tower rises above HornĂ Square and gives the best quick read of Slavonice: red roofs, decorated house fronts, small lanes, and the wooded borderland rolling away toward Austria.
It is a simple climb, but worth doing before you leave the centre. From above, the town's scale becomes clear, and so does the reason it feels so self-contained.
