Orebygaard Estate

Orebygaard sits four kilometres northwest of Sakskøbing on the Guldborgsund coast, a long red-brick manor house with octagonal corner towers in a romanticised Renaissance style. The present building dates from the 1870s, but the estate itself is much older — recorded as far back as the early fifteenth century.

The main house is not normally open, but the park stretching down to the water is freely accessible and worth a wander. Walking trails follow the shore, and on clear days you can see across the strait toward Falster. A small forestry museum operates in one of the outbuildings during summer.
