Løgum Abbey

Løgum Abbey is a former Cistercian monastery northeast of Tønder, founded in the 12th century. The surviving abbey church is one of southern Jutland's important medieval religious buildings, with plain brick architecture that reflects the Cistercian taste for restraint.

The site is most useful for travellers with a car or bicycle who are exploring the wider Tønder marshland area. Pair it with the old town or the Wadden Sea rather than treating it as a full-day destination.
