Tartu's bar scene is driven by its 13,000 students and is livelier than the city's size would suggest. The streets around Raekoja plats and Ülikooli Street have the highest concentration of venues. The Student Days festival (Tartu Tudengipäevad) at the end of April fills every bar in the city and continues onto the streets.
